Give It Heaps Ltd. was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Aaron Pollock and Mickey Smith, when the moved their design and art careers, along with their two year old son Maximilian, to New Zealand. They opened a studio in Auckland and began building a new life in a new land.
Mickey began keeping a blog when they arrived, writing about their experiences living and working in New Zealand. It was a place to keep in touch with colleagues, family and friends around the world. In 2016, life took a turn, and the blog became a place for the couple to communicate Aaron’s battle with brain cancer through to his death in December 2017.
Filled with Aarons music and design, Mickey’s photography and artwork, all the while tracking Maximilian’s transformation from New York baby to Kiwi boy, the Give It Heaps blog has become an archive, a family album, and memorial to our beloved founder, father and late husband, Aaron Pollock.
